January 2023 makeup bag

Is it just me or do you find it fascinating what people have in their make up bags? For me the items change almost week to week but definitely month-to-month. It all depends on the weather, my schedule, and what my skin needs or if I have been influenced by social media (cough cough, thanks Mikayla!).

My skin has been annoyed with me for the last couple of weeks. I haven’t figured out why but am troubleshooting. I can share my process for troubleshooting in the future if that would be of use.

Let me define “annoyed” - Extra dry, prone to redness, texture, and that tight uncomfortable feeling. Plus some small breakouts. All unwelcome and unusual.

The current collection, in order of application:

First step is skincare. No matter what I am doing, how I am feeling, or where I am going or not going, I do my skincare routine. I have not included that step here.

  1. Foundations: Currently testing out several. Review will be here (Coming 01/24/2023)

  2. Blush: Seint “Sangria”

  3. Contour: Seint “Olive”

  4. Hourglass ambient powder. This powder is so light weight and it has a beautiful finish to it. Very natural and subtle but gives a warm glow tone. Makes my skin look even healthier and happier without being obvious about it.

  5. Nyx Thick It. Stick It! brow mascara in brunette

  6. Nyx Micro Brow pencil in ash brown - For brows, I’ve been doubling up lately for a natural yet full look.

  7. Eyeshadows: My go-tos for the last several months have been: Seint “Cafe, Oak, Gigi, and Trust”

  8. Sheishedo eyelash curler. Curl dem lashes doll! I was never an eye lash curl fan until I got this curler a few years ago. They all look the same but there is some special unseen sauce to this one. My stick straight lashes stay curled when I use this and pair it with my ride or die mascara....

  9. Nyx Epic Ink liner eyeliner - Depending on my mood, I add this to my waterline on my top lid. Makes my lashes look thicker and adds contrast next to my irises. They can look really dark but with the juxtaposition to black, you can see their dark green and amber pop a little more.

  10. Buxom waterproof Mascara in black. Lengthening, plumping, hydrating, separating inky velvet on your lashes that does not transfer after it is dry. I am notorious for having mascara smudges on my lower lids with pretty much all other mascaras whether or not they are waterproof.

  11. Lips! This one I switch up almost on the daily, but if I had to pick just one: Mac lip pencil in Soar. Also, the Seint Blush doubles as a lippie. I just find that the Mac pencils last almost all day.

Tools:

  1. The bag itself - This was a limited edition from InTheFrow but I have linked some similar that I have earmarked for when this one starts to fall apart.

  2. Blush+Bronzer brush - Seint

  3. Eyeshadow Brush - Seint

  4. Eyelash curler - Sheishedo

  5. Tweezers - Tweeterman
